The SIEGE has begun....and it is NOT stopping!

This is our observation and our declaration! As the travelling team met to debrief on the last night of this summer's tour we were all in agreement: we had closure in our hearts on this 16 day "assignment" but we all know that this was a start of something that must continue.

So we are praying and strategizing and getting mega downloads! We spent all day re-designing the websites to reflect more of the team (and less of me) over time and a long term vision for Siege--stay tuned!, we are hoping to have the new site loaded on Monday (the 29th).

We will try have some sort of report out by e-mail this week as well (e-mail access pending as I am still on the road).

As for now I can tell you...
-we are looking at doing a Siege week in October, in Ottawa, where a group from around the nation will come to meet with politicians
-I am travelling east this week to launch the Siege vision in Nfld and likely New Brunswick (maybe even Nova Scotia!).
-we are going to start building a full-time team to continue to labour into this
-one of our team members (Dave Vandas) is working on a documentary about Siege!!! (and is needing financial support, if you feel a nudge to help finance this let us know)

That is the scoop for now.
I AM SO EXCITED.

The final days of Siege were mounted with favour upon favour and still I know the best is yet to come.

Hi Canada,
Ottawa has been off the charts!! There has been so much favour on the team as we have continued in the Siege mandate onsite at our nation's capital. We feel like we own the place we are so at home here.

We had a great rally on the Parliament steps on Tues when we declared the Josiah covenant together. Several key prayer leaders from the nation showed up to be a part. The generation rose up and committed to be a voice for biblical righteousness and justice in the gates of influence in the nation....and the Parliament grounds and all who were there stood as a witness. It was a thrilling time for me and we could feel such authority as we declared this covenant.

After this the older generation surrounded us to pray a blessing over what had just happened. The whole thing was sealed up in such a perfect way. (And as a bonus one of the key Gen-X papers in the area (Dose) reported on the event!)

In the days to follow we have me with several key politicians (3 Senators and several MP's/MPPs). We were all amazed at the continued favour the Lord was giving us and the doors He opened...with the Senate especially. Awsome stuff.

Our last meeting was with Pierre Poillievre and was more than the cherry on the ice-cream. He is the youngest Canadian MP and is on fire for traditional morality, and not afraid to take a stand for it. In our time together her basically spoke our own message (calling the generation to rise up and be a voice) in his own words back to us. I wanted to cry it was so amazing.

The team is doing well...we all start to head back to home posts tomorrow but are FULL OF VISION for what is to come. The SIEGE HAS BEGUN AND IT IS NOT STOPPING. We are looking at doing another thrust in October focusing on Ottawa (stay tuned). Also we will be posting more of the articles that came out during the tour and PICTURES up on the blog shortly so make sure and come back to visit us here in the days to come.

Thanks again for all your prayers.
We love you Canada.
Grace.

Hello Once Again!

Sorry for the late post. Much has happened and it feels like a bit of a blur. I'll fill you in best I can.

We have been spending most of our time at the parliamentary Buildings in Ottawa for the last 4 days.

We were very fortunate to get a private tour of the parliamentary buildings by the assistant of an MP we contacted. He was very gracious and gave us lots of freedom to pray and bless the building as we walked through all of the different rooms including the house of commons and the senate chamber. The highlight though was the peace tower and memorial chamber as they had a rich heritage left by our founding forefathers. Many scriptures have been set into the stone of the peace tower including, "He shall have dominion also from sea to sea", and "where there is no vision the people perish". On the largest bell in the peace tower which rings on the hour are the words, "Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will to men". In the memorial chamber remembering all those that have died there are numberous scriptures set into the brass cases and in the stain glass windows. As we discovered these foundations we felt right at home and spoke forth that which had been established by our forefathers.

We had many precious times of prayer on the steps including the rally where we resited the Josiah covenant. Many times throughout our times of prayer the bells would chime from the peace tower at perfect times joining in with our prayers with a resounding "Glory to God in the highest". It was an agreement of the ages- the old declarations made by our founding forefathers agreeing with our prayers and vice versa. It was a holy and historic time.

We also had the chance to meeting with various MPP's, MP's and senators. Each meeting added fuel to the flames and was very encouraging.

Our final meeting was with Pierre Poilievre, the youngest MP in Canada. It was as amazing meeting! Unlike some of our other meetings with MP's, we found that we shared very similar views on many things and he was able to make us aware of some very important issues and offer us some great advice of what to do next.

Wow, what can we say. The team has been blown away with all that has happened. This online journal has only scratched the surface. This is just the start of something and we can feel in growing in our spirits and have had many confirmations. The vision is catching, the fire is spreading. Welcome the revolution - The Siege Has Begun!

p.s. Please keep checking the website as we will keep you informed with what's happening next.

Hello Everyone!

Wow, the last several days have been amazing. On Saturday we flew from Winnipeg to Toronto. We were blessed by a anonymous business man who paid for hotel rooms for the team for two nights. Saturday night we went to do a meeting a Church Without Limits and was amazing. From the moment we walked into the church we instantly connected with the young people there- we were totally in the same spirit. We could really sense the expectation in the air, we could feel something was going to burst- and it did.

God's presence came in a powerful way as the church packed with 200+ young people worshiped their hearts out. The group was hungry and the were impacted by the message that Faytene shared. The service lasted 4+ hours and nobody wanted to leave.

Sunday we did a meeting on the steps of the leg and reporters were there from City TV and the National Post (we later found out that our article was published in the National Post entitled, "Young and Wild for conservative values", or something like that). Our time there was precious and there was a great time of prayer where the fathers and mothers prayed over the younger people. Some great practical idea's came forth of how we can be a voice.

Monday we met with 3 politicians in the Toronto Area. It was a great time of discussion, where we we're able to bring our voice to the table and get some awesome pearls of wisdom.

We have now arrived in Ottawa and we can feel a great anticipation as this has been what our siege has been building up to. Please be praying that we finish this race well and don't let-up. We are in this till the end. :)

Day 9 in Winnipeg was another peak out! I honestly have to say this has been the "highest level" stop yet (it feels) in terms of what we have connected into in the spirit. What we touched today does not feel national, it acutally felt global. Winnipeg is the centre of Canada, and some say even the centre of North America geographically, so the fact that we connected into this level in the spirit is no surprise.

The team did great. We had a significant time where the Holy Spirit fell on some Metis young people and one of them prophesied and travailed for almost 5 hours. It was transforming, on many levels. Today we had significant appointments with 2 MLAs, 1 Senator and 1 MP. The Holy Spirit is continuing to give us sharp wisdom on the spot and is filling our mouths with His words and the encounter with the Senator was especially significant for us.

There were signs in the sky as well while we were on the steps of the Legislative Assembly and the Metis and young people were praying (stay tuned for photos).

Thanks for the prayers Canada!! We feel them, big time.

We are onward early tomorrow morning to Toronto for an evening meeting (Sat), the rally on the steps of the Legislative Assembly on Sunday and another evening meeting. Monday is packed with meetings with politicians.

Mega love to you Cananda! We are in this together. Faytene

Hi Canada!

Thanks for the prayers during our SIEGE in Regina. It was a sweet time and the presence of God on the steps of the Legislative Assembly was awesome. Things are moving and we can feel this thing building at every stop and step. We had a meeting with a MLA inside the Legislative Assembly and there were about 40 of us who had the opportunity to connect with him.

The conversations with these provincial/national leaders have been laced with favour and depth. Several meetings have brought both us and these politicians to tears as God has touched their hearts in amazing ways. We also had our first meeting with a Senator...over the phone! It was one of the best yet I would have to say doors opened for us to connect with us for future iniatives. We all feel this particular meeting was a real divine appointment and look forward to what will come out of it.

MEDIA STUFF: The media is continuing to chase this Siege (which we think is super cool). The local Regina newspaper picked the story on us and, again, it was a great and fair (mostly) report. Keep it coming! Let the VOICE resound in the land!

Tomorrow we continue in Winnipeg!...4 meetings (2 MLAs, 1 Senator & 1 MP), the rally on the steps of the Leg. Assembly and then top it all off with a meeting at Zion Apostolic. We contine to covet your prayers for this Holy Siege.

Large Youth Meeting at Eagles Nest Ranch

Group Shot with MLA in Calgary

Discussion with another MLA in Calgary

Talking with MLA in Calgary Coffee Shop

Praying for youth on the steps on the Leg in Edmonton

Meeting with MLA in Edmonton
Hi Canada!!
Thanks so much for your prayers! We are feeling them. Each stop and meeting has been so powerful. We have had several MP and MLA meetings where we have been able to share a solid message from our hearts with the leaders of our nation. Many of them have expressed their delight in having so many young people in their offices to share with them that they want Canada to remain true to the traditional moral values. It has been sweet. We have also been able to prophesy a word straight from the heart of God to some of them. WE WERE CREATED FOR THIS.

The steps of the Legislative Assembly in Edmonton was another powerful time of declartation as members of the emerging generation we committed, in a public place, before God to be a VOICE for traditional moralism and justice in Canada. This feels so good.

In the last 2 evening meetings (Edmonton and Calgary)God moved soverignly in the hearts of many. In Calgary the meeting overseer commented on how she saw many young people leaving the meeting so touch by what God was doing in them and the revelation that they can be a voice for Him in this generation. Destiny is rising up.

Media coverage has also been thorough. 2 nights ago in Calgary CTV came and did an interview with these moral "activists" (us) and it made the evening news. Yah God! The day prior we made the Edmonton Journal and the article was good and fair (see below).

We love Canada!

Activist brings morals message to conservative youth
rally

HANNEKE BROOYMANS Journal Staff Writer

EDMONTON
This is not the time for conservatives to be meek. So says Faytene Kryskow, an Edmonton-born author and activist who is touring the country, urging socially
conservative youths and young adults to counteract the messages coming from "aggressive liberals." Her message attracted about 65 people —mostly clean-cut, well-groomed youth— to the steps of the Alberta legislature Sunday.
There, she led them in prayers asking society and politicians to embrace a culture of "life" and justice. Kryskow, 30, calls this the "Siege—Storm the Hill"
tour because it will ultimately wind up in Ottawa. But also because her tour book is crammed with visits to MPs and MLAs.
"There is a perception in Canada that the next generation, those 35 and under, is by and large departing from the traditional morals of our fathers and forefathers," she said. "Politicians believe the aggressive liberal voice represents the next generation. I’m here to say it doesn’t." There are thousands of young adults who believe in the traditional biblical definitions of what is right and wrong, she said. Many politicians are relieved and eager to hear her message, Kryskow said, adding she does not limit her visits to any one party. "The only reason we’ve been turned down by anyone is for scheduling reasons." She has already met with Conservative MP Stockwell Day and his wife, Valerie.
Today, she plans to see NDP Edmonton-Calder MLA David Eggen, Conservative MP for Edmonton-Leduc James Rajotte, Conservative MP Edmonton-Sherwood Park Ken
Epp, Liberal Edmonton-McClung MLA Mo Elsalhy, and Conservative MLA Edmonton-Castle Downs Thomas Lukaszuk. Many politicians know her for her book, entitled Stand On Guard, which offers a historical look at some of Canada’s "righteous" founders. One of those founders was Marie Guyart, a missionary who traveled to Canada in 1639 before it was even a nation to serve among First Nations people.Guyart was religious from a young age, while Kryskow’s own calling came somewhat later.
Born in Edmonton and raised in Lesser Slave Lake, Kryskow ended up in British Columbia, where she took a communications degree at Simon Fraser University.
She got involved in inner-city ministries and, at the age of 20, found her faith renewed. Until then, she had been a "troubled kid." "I was a mess in the
sense of getting into lots of trouble, not with the law, just with my parents." Now, she feels she should encourage other young people who share her beliefs to
speak out. Often, people who believe in principles such as abstinence before marriage are made to feel like criminals or aliens in today’s society, she said.
She wants them to know they are not alone. "We’re not telling them what to say," she said about her rallies. She believes in the traditional view of marriage, the
importance of prayers in schools and the rights of unborn children. Jenelle Ekkelenkamp, 17, was at the rally Sunday because she thinks "the spirit of death
has come against our generation and our nation." "I think the Christians in our generation aren’t speaking out, they’re not taking a stance for what is good,
just and for what God thinks is right." Jason Zerbin, 18, said he thinks many of his generation remain quiet because young people often think they can’t change any
thing. "We haven’t been given a voice by the older generation. Now, that muzzle is being removed."

Day 3--Today's stop (and last night) was Kelowna. We had a great evening meeting at the Kelowna New Life Church. We could all feel a sense that we were getting in on something God is doing on the ground level. One of the highlights of the night for me was near the end where we had an open mic time where different young people in the room got up and began to proclaim "I have a VOICE." Each one declared that they have a voice in this nation and, in essence, that they were going to use it to take a stand in Canada. It was sweet and strong.

Early today we met with Stockwell Day and Valerie his wife. It was a precious time of meeting together and we were so thankful that they took this time with us. This is a couple who have stood so faithfully in the nation as pillars and we honoured them with a #1 Siege Shirt (hounourary number) because they have stood in the gates of influence in this nation for years--now a generation is rising.

After this time we were on down the road to a garden party at MP Darrel Stinson's. To our delight there were many MPs and local politicians there that the team was able to share their hearts with (MP Dick Harris, MP Myron Thomson...and others). MP Darrel Stinson was so encouraged by the team that he gave us a platform to address the entire group that was there (of a few hundred). We are receiving favour on every front and it is so encouraging. The local TV station was also there to interview us and we are waiting to hear the outcome of this.

We are now in Edmonton and posturing ourselves for what God is going to do in Day 4!
If you are in Edmonton we will see you at the Legislative Assembly at 3pm!!

We have just finished Day 2! I think we are all pinching ourselves thinking "Can this be real?"--we know this is all way bigger than we can comprehend right now. The response in both Victoria and Kelowna has been encouraging. We kicked tour off with appointments with 2 MLA's and likely MP to be (the Liberal candidate for the next provincial election in BC). The steps of the Leg. Assembly was so powerful and both evening meetings have been weighty as well. Tonight the youth from Kelowna got up one by one on the mic and declared "I have a voice!:" It was very powerful and the presence was strong. As a generation we are rising!! I can feel it--I can see it.

The press showed up yesterday too! Following is a great article that was printed in the Victoria paper this morning when we left. It is really encouraging--I especially love the opener! , Bless you as you read. Faytene

TOUR AIMS TO GIVE SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES A MEANINGFUL VOICE
BY JEFF RUD Times Colonist staff

They’re calling it Siege 2005, and they’re asking God to dispatch his "angelic armies of heaven against the works of darkness.’’
But spokeswoman Faytene Kryskow, who kicked off a ninecity tour with a prayer rally on the steps of the B.C. legislature Thursday, says the movement is mostly about raising awareness of Canada’s large contingent of socially conservative young people, who are too often ignored.
"This is not a protest, but a mobilization of those of us who have more of a socially conservative ideology,’’ said the 30-year-old Vancouver missionary.
Among young people in Canada, it’s the ideologically liberal voices that are usually loudest, she said. Her tour, which will include prayer meetings at legislatures and culminate at the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa on Aug. 23, is designed to turn up the volume on the other side.
On Thursday, about 70 people — young and old, including one man with a T-shirt reading "Jesus is my Homeboy" — listened to Kryskow speak about taking a stand as the "voice of righteousness and justice" in Canada.
Afterward, the group recited in unison the "Josiah Covenant," which spells out a commitment to help "re-establish the righteous foundations laid up by our righteous forefathers.’’
Kryskow said the group isn’t telling other people how to live, and her speech didn’t make reference to topics such as abortion or gay and lesbian marriage.
But NDP MLA Rob Fleming, who agreed to meet with the group, said in an interview that he had a "very frank difference of opinion" with them when he said that he was proud that Canada was one of the first countries in the world to allow gay marriage.
Kryskow said she personally supports the traditional view of marriage and believes that "in the womb a baby is a life, absolutely.’’ But she said her group has no collective or official stance on these issues. "We’re not out to be pegged with any cause, at all.’’
A core group of about 10 young Christians from the Lower Mainland is doing the entire Siege Tour and organizing local rallies along the way. Kryskow, who has pre-arranged meetings with politicians, said her tour is getting organizational support from two Christian sponsors — Extreme Prophetic Vancouver and the National House of Prayer.
The movement represents "untapped votes" in Canada, she said. "We want to live in a nation that … doesn’t make us feel like we’ve got three eyes if we choose not to have sex before marriage or something like that."

Faytene Kryskow talks to a gathering at the legislative buildings Thursday as part of a cross-Canada tour. John McKay/TC
Greetings from the team!

Great report - We made the Times Colonist (Friday, Aug 12th, second page of the Capital section). You'll want to check it out, it was a great article! We will try to post it later on if we are able.

Well, today was a mostly a travel day. But weather was good and we traveled in good time. One of our meetings with an MLA was cancelled but it worked out well for the team to have some time to prepare and get organized.

Our meeting in Kelowna was a fairly small group, but a very significant time! It was a deep time of prophetic acts that dealt with deep issues in are nation, and we could tell it was a very strategic time.

The voice is coming forth and many youth stepped out to overcome their fear of speaking out what is in there heart in all realms of society.

The older generation stepped out in a meaningful way to support and walk with the younger generation as they speak forth.

Thanks for the support- we can feel it. Tomorrow is a big travel day - please continue to stand with us.
Raise the voice!

Hello Everybody,

Wow, what can we say today has been a full and awesome day! We met with three polititians, had a rally on the step of the leg and held a church meeting this evening. It feels like we have been here for a few days at least. We feel that by grace we were able to cover a lot. What all happened is still in process for a lot of us but we had some great conversations with the polititians on both sides and I know all of us came out of the meetings with a greater respect for each other, some thoughts to chew on and lots of encouragement.

The team has grown together phenomenally and we've had chance to connect with some totally awesome people. Many have expressed how it feels surreal- "I can't believe we're doing this", but at the same time - "Why didn't we do this earlier?".

We are headed to the Okanagan tomorrow. Please pray for travel mercies. We'll keep you updated as we are able to find internet.

Hello Canada!

We are so excited about Siege 05 and are BLESSED beyond belief that you have been prompted to log in and engage with this national initiative.

The traveling team is in the final days of preparation right now and we are experiencing such an abundance of grace with us. God loves Canada so much and we long to bring him pleasure by ministering life giving word to this nation that He loves.

Please pray for us as we cross the land, meeting with politicians (MPs/MLAs/Senators), work together with other believers to stir up a passion for Canada and declare (from BC-Ont) our commitment as a generation to be an authentic VOICE in this hour.

A few months ago I was at an worship service and we were singing that well known song

"LET YOUR GLORY FALL" (a 90's favorite).

We were singing the words:

Father of creation, unfold your sovereign plan
Raise up a chosen generation, that will march through the land
All of creation is longing, for your unveiling of power
Would you release your anointing? O God let this be the hour
...
Ruler of the nations, the world has yet to see
The full release of your promise, the Church in victory

...and as we sang these words I felt that "Every time that this song was sung it was a prayer before me. It was a prayer to release a generation who would walk through the land in power." I then saw the bowls in heaven that these prayers had filled begin to tip over and the answer to these prayers began to spill out. I sensed the Lord say "I am NOW releasing the answer to these prayers. I am releasing the answer to the prayer of this song, Let Your Glory Fall, upon a chosen generation."

As I type this my spirit is electric.

I hope I do not sound "proud" in saying this, in fact in my heart I feel very contrite....I know we are that chosen generation. It is a company, not a one man deal.

If you feel "the call" in your Spirit, you are also a part of the Siege and we hope you will both pray with & for us and join us at any of the stops along the way to declare His name and glory.

Thank you to those of you who have already been in fervent prayer for the team. We feel the grace released through this prayers and know that we need the nation behind us.

We love you (the Body).
See you on the front line.
